The funny thing about taste is that everyone thinks they have it until you start looking at the tiny decisions. It is very easy to have an opinion about the sofa, the dress, or the hotel. I am much more interested in what happens when nobody thinks the decision matters. The glass you drink from. The pen on your desk. The watch on your wrist.

Those are the fun parts. They’re all little opportunities to make your life feel more like yours. Pick the ridiculous one. Pick the beautiful one. Pick the one that makes absolutely no sense to anyone else but makes perfect sense in the world you’re creating. You get a thousand tiny chances a day to decide what your life looks like. It would be a shame to waste them being reasonable.
